In the month of April, GSM subscriber base in the country has decreased by 2.14 lakh to 77.37 crore mainly on account of Videocon and Idea Cellular losing customers, says the industry body COAI.
In April month, Videocon has lost 14.09 lakh customers whereas Idea’s user base declined by 3.87 lakh subscribers. The overall subscriber base of these companies fell to 51.54 lakh and 17.46 crore respectively.
Moreover, Telenor has also lost 25,496 customers in the reported period.
A deal has already been announced by Videocon to sell its spectrum in six circles to Bharti Airtel.
