Government Intends to Double the Turnover of the Automobile Industry to 15 Lakh Crore: Gadkari.
During an interview, Nitin Gadkari, the present Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, said, “The turnover of the automobile industry is Rs 7.55 lakh crore, and four and a half crores have jobs in the sector. This industry gives maximum GST to the government. We have decided to make this industry of Rs 15 lakh crore and generate 10 crore jobs.”
He also added that India had beaten Japan in Automobile manufacturing and had taken the 3 positions globally after China and the USA.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that strengthening work is being done in the state and constructing new roads. About 1.32 lakh kilometres of road are being constructed in the state. In this, 61,000 km of road has been constructed, and construction on 71,000 km is in progress.
The chief minister urged the Union Minister to issue a gazette notification soon regarding the declaration of 50 roads in Rajasthan as National Highways.
He added that the state government had left no stone unturned for a strong road network during the function. Industrial and economic development has picked up a strong pace due to better road connectivity in the state. Rajasthan has joined the country’s leading states with a strong road network.
