The green hydrogen policy will be revealed in the next ten days and feature incentives like a free transmission for the next 25 years to increase this clean source of energy, Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh said. “We will launch the green hydrogen policy in the next ten days. We will provide free transmission for the next 25 years. So you can generate power for making hydrogen in Rajasthan or Guwahati or Baruni,” he said in a virtual meeting on smart metering hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The minister also said that the policy would feature dollar-denominated bids, the land offers in renewable energy parks and land allocation near ports for creating bunkers for green hydrogen or ammonia. We want India to come out as the exporter of green hydrogen. And If a state wants to give 100 units free, then they can provide taxpayers’ money for free electricity, but if they can’t pay for free electricity, then they should not vow such freebies.
