Google has declared that it will introduce the Android 12L Operating System (OS) to Samsung, Lenovo and Microsoft devices by the end of this year. The new OS will change the home screen, lock screen, notification shade, device set-up screens and settings. The changes are done to give users more information on the net. “Today, we are introducing 12L, an update to Android 12 with features that will allow tablets and foldable simpler and easier to use. We will continue to create more features and functionalities to help you use your larger screen devices in Android 13 and beyond,” Google’s VP of engineering for Android, Andrei Popescu, said.
The company recently announced Android 12L, an Android 12 optimised for tablets, foldable, and ChromeOS devices. Google also announced new features in OS and Played for developers to support these devices. These include updates to its Material Design guidance for large-screen devices, updates to Jetpack Compose as well to make it easier to build for these machines and to assure that apps can more easily adapt to multiple screen orientations and sizes.
