Godrej Properties shares were trading in the green on 11 October after the company opened Taj the Trees Hotel at its flagship project in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area. The hotel will be owned by the company and will be managed by IHCL (Indian Hotel Companies Limited).
The hotel is spread across 0.35 million square feet and has 151 spacious rooms, restaurants, a pool, a rooftop bar, a spa, and conference and meeting facilities.
In its regulatory filing on 9 October, the company said, “The hotel is IGBC Platinum certified and has been designed to offer generous views of the mangroves on one side and of the public art and sculpture park on the other.”
Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties, said that they are happy to open their first hotel, Taj the Trees, in partnership with the Tata Group.
He added, “This collaboration showcasing Godrej Properties’ development expertise and IHCL’s excellence in hospitality marks a significant milestone in our journey, as we aim to deliver quality and sustainable luxury in a green, connected, and vibrant neighbourhood.”
The hotel is close to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the newly proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport.
At 1:40 pm, the shares of Godrej Properties were trading at Rs 1,738 or 0.89% above its previous close on NSE.
