GMR Airports, on 16 July, reported an 8% increase in passenger traffic for the month of June over the last year, handling more than 10.6 million passengers across all its airports. Despite a 2% quarter-over-quarter fall, the numbers represent an increase of 7.8% in outlook from last year.
Domestic traffic has risen by 6.4% year-over-year, while international traffic jumped by 12.8% in the same period. Aircraft movement for June showed a 6% year-over-year increase and a 3% quarter-over-quarter rise.
Since last year, the company has continuously supervised more than 10 million passengers per month. On 16 June 2024, Delhi Airport reported its highest numbers for single-day passenger traffic, amounting to about 0.23 million.
GMR Airports reported a net loss of Rs 167.6 crore for the quarter ending on 31 March 2024, closing the gap from the Rs 638.9 crore net loss recorded during the same quarter last year. The revenue from the operations rose by 29.5% to Rs 2,446.8 crore as compared to last year’s revenue of Rs 1,889.7 crore.
The EBITDA shot up to Rs 816 crore in the latest quarter of FY 23-24, up from Rs 254 crore last year. Overall, the company’s financial performance has shown massive improvements over the previous year.
The GMR Goa International Airport Limited posted a cumulative loss of around Rs 500 crore throughout the first two years of operations, according to the state government’s statement during the legislative assembly on 16 June.
