PM Narendra Modi announced that PM Gati Shakti has a massive role in improving infrastructure efficiency and decreasing the cost of logistics. “Infrastructure planning, execution and monitoring will get a new direction from PM Gati Shakti. This will also bring down the time and cost overrun of the projects,” he said in a post-budget webinar. The government’s Unified Logistic Interface Platform (ULIP) is combining 24 government departments and six ministries to develop a single-window logistic platform which will lead to decreased costs, he added.

Modi said that the portal would help Indian exports and make Indian MSMEs competitive in the global market. He said that over 400 data layers are available on the platform now, with information on existing and offered infrastructure, along with data on forest land and industrial estate, which will help private players get different clearances at the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage.
