The ex-Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh passes away at the age of 87 on July 8 after suffering from an illness. He took his last breath at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) at 3.40 am, senior medical superintendent Dr. Janak Raj said. He had undergone a heart attack on July 5 and was crucial. He was in the critical care unit of IGMC. He was placed on the ventilator under the guidance of the doctors of the cardiology department on July 7 after he had a breathing problem.
The 9 time MLA and 5 time Member of Parliament, Singh also states as Himachal Pradesh‘s Chief Minister for six times. He also served as Himachal Pradesh Congress President in 1977, 1979, 1980, and from 26th August 2012 to December 2012. He was tested positive for Coronavirus on June 11 for the second time in two months. Before this, he had tested positive for the coronavirus on April 12.
Virbhadra Singh had come back home in Holly Lodge on April 30 from the Chandigarh hospital after getting rid of the first virus. But, he was again admitted to IGMC hours after reaching home, as he faced some of cardiac and breathing problems. He was under treatment in the hospital ever since then.
