On Thursday, Mark Fields the chief executive said that Ford Motor Co has invested $1 billion in a new plant in Sanand which will help the automaker triple exports from the country.
The new manufacturing facility will Approximately double the company’s installed production capacity in the country to 610,000 engines and 440,000 vehicles a year, Fields said.
There will be an initial installed annual capacity of 240,000 vehicles and 270,000 engines in the plant. The Sanand plant will be launched with single shift operations supported by nearly 2,500 employees.
