FM Sitharaman Launches Single Nodal Agency Dashboard on Tuesday

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch a single-nodal agency (SNA) dashboard on Tuesday that will provide ministries/departments with a platform to monitor the flow of funds to states and their use.

The Public Financial Management System (PFMS) developed the SNA Dashboard to provide SNA Model stakeholders with the necessary feedback and monitoring tools in project operations, the ministry said in a statement.

“The dashboard depicts, in easy-to-understand, informative, and visually appealing graphics, information released by ministries to different states, further releases from the Treasury Department on SNA accounts, agency-reported spending, interest paid by banks to SNA accounts, and more.”

The SNA Dashboard is part of a public financial management reform launched in 2021 on how Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) funds are issued, paid and monitored.

“This revised process, now known as the SNA Model, requires each state to identify and designate an SNA for each program. All funds from that state in a particular program will be credited to this bank account. All expenses will be made by other implementing agencies involved from this account,” the ministry said in a statement.

Therefore, the SNA model ensures that CSS funds are distributed to states promptly after various regulations are met. “Effective implementation of this model increases the efficiency of CSS funds use, funds tracking, pragmatic and timely disbursement of funds to states; ultimately all of these contribute to better management of government cash,” it added.

The dashboard is being launched as part of the Ministry of Finance’s iconic Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav week celebrations.
