Airline major SpiceJet has reported that its aircraft occupancy or passenger load factor (PLF) on July 30 and 31 was 81% and 82.4%, respectively. As per the airline spokesperson, SpiceJet flight operations remain positively normal. All its flights departed on time, per the schedule, and there have been no cancellations.
The spokesperson said that the airline operates with excellent loads, and the daily ticket bookings remain robust. SpiceJet is grateful for the continued confidence shown by passengers and travel partners. It is confident in scaling up operations and addressing any concerns that the regulator may have on priority.
Lately, aviation regulator Director General of Civil Aviation has received requests for the deregistration of three aircraft of Spicejet. Leasing firm Awas Ireland Limited filed the deregistration requests against three Boeing 737 aircraft on July 29.
Earlier, during the last week, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered SpiceJet airline to operate only fifty per cent of its flights for eight weeks. DGCA took this decision to sustain safe and reliable air transport service. It was based on findings of various spot checks, and inspections.
