Zydus Cadila announced in a regulatory filing that it supplied the first batch of its Covid-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D, to the Central Government. In November 2021, the pharma company ordered 1 Crore dose of its Covid-19 vaccine to the Indian government at Rs 265 per dose.
“Zydus Cadila has received an order to supply one crore doses of ZyCoV-D, the world’s first Plasmid DNA Vaccine, to the Government of India at Rs 265 per dose and the needle-free applicator at Rs 93 per dose excluding the GST,” the pharma company added in the regulatory filing.

The Covid-19 vaccine will be given using a needle-free applicator. The applicator, which is called ‘PharmaJet’, is a needle-free applicator to provide painless vaccine delivery, which will also decrease any significant side effects. “Zydus has also done an agreement with Shilpa Medicare Limited to produce doses of ZyCoV-D,” it said.
