The European Union and China will hold high-level economic and trade talks on Tuesday amid tensions over a range of issues, including the war in Ukraine, the war in Xinjiang and a yet-to-be-approved investment deal.
“The 9th #EUChina High-Level Economic and Trade Dialogue will be held tomorrow, 19/07,” European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said on his Twitter account on Monday.
Western diplomatic sources told Reuters that the dialogue would be virtual and take place on Tuesday afternoon Beijing time.
The last round of such conversations was in July 2020, again led by Dombrovskis and Liu.
