In the morning session of Wednesday, various FMCG shares were seen trading high. Shares of Emami jumped up 1.12 per cent, Tata Global Beverages jumped by 1.00 per cent, Godrej Consumer Products jumped by 0.67 per cent, while United Spirits jumped by 1.12 per cent. These FMCGs traded with gains.
Whereas GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare traded up 0.44 per cent, Dabur India traded up 0.65 per cent, Hindustan Unilever traded up 0.42 per cent and significantly, Marico traded up 0.66 per cent.
Benchmark, BSE Sensex was up 105.79 points at 39,540.73 while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.15 points at 11,823.60.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 29,593.65 around 10:25 am.
