Auto shares were trading in a mixed note in Thursday’s morning session.
Few of the auto shares were the top performers in the index with shares of Tata Motors up by 2.92 per cent, Motherson Sumi Systems up by 1.27 per cent and Hero MotoCorp up by 0.79 per cent.
However, there were few shares which traded low, as well. Eicher Motors was down by 2 per cent, Apollo Tyres down by 1.41 per cent, Bharat Forge down by 0.95 per cent and Mahindra and Mahindra down by 0.91 per cent.
Among the 50 stocks present in the Nifty index, 24 were in the red, while 26 of them were in the green.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 49.69 points at 37,164.57, while NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.15 points at 11,170.15.
