On 19 September, Mr Jawahar Lal Goel, chairman of Dish TV India, stepped down from the company’s board of directors.
As per the company’s statement, “Jawahar Lal Goel, director of the company, vide his letter dated 19 September 2022, has tendered his resignation from the board of directors of the company and committee(s) thereof with effect from the close of business hours of 19 September 2022.”

In 2003, India’s first direct-to-home (DTH) company was launched, a part of the Essel group of companies. Dish TV India (DTIL)service effective from 22 March 2018, Videocon d2h, launched its service in 2009 and has been amalgamated with and into Dish TV India on 01 October 2017.
On a consolidated basis, the net profit of Dish TV tumbled 64.5 per cent to Rs 17.85 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year from Rs 50.24 crore posted in the first quarter of the last financial year. Net sales dropped 16.7 per cent to Rs 608.63 crore in the first quarter of FY23 as compared with Rs 730.97 crore recorded in the first quarter of the last financial year (FY22). On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Dish TV India shares hit an upper circuit of 10 per cent at Rs 16.86.
