Delhivery and Volvo Trucks has joined hands for testing and deploying a new transport solution for express operations which will help them to address the challenges that arise in speedy delivery and cost efficiencies of services.
Volvo FM 4×2, a unique tractor-trailer combination of Volvo which is running in Europe will be deployed by Delhivery which will enable faster turn-around along with time for the safer, comfortable and long life of trucks and ensuring drivers to deliver better productivity. It will also enhance the efficiency of cargo movement with trailers carrying capacities of around 93 cum and, maintaining average running hours of over 20 a day and 3,00,000 km in a year.
Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV) said, “We are building a vital link in the logistic chain. We have seen productivity improving by up to 20%.” He further added that truck’s journey would telematics further ensure that exhaustive data is captured, analysed and correction will be done accordingly.
The Gurugram-based startup operates one of the largest surface fleet networks in India and covers over 5,00,000 km daily with across 17,500 pin codes and 2300+ cities, towns, and villages daily. The new solution will help in reducing delivery time and fulfilling their business goal with the shortest possible time of delivery and reducing order cancellations.
