Officials said Delhi Metro’s Blue Line and Pink Line services resumed with reduced operation timings on Wednesday, after being closed for 171 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in the first stage will operate trains in the batches of four-hour each in the morning from 7-11 AM and in the afternoon for 4-8 PM. DMRC on twitter tweeted “The Blue and Pink lines resumed services today. Slowly and steadily, Delhi Metro will be back to take you places! #MetroBackOnTrack “.

On Monday, the Delhi metro resumed its services with cutting down the operation timing of the Yellow Line, since its closure on March 22 due to the pandemic.

The DMRC has also appealed to people to use the rapid transport services only if urgently needed.

Under stage one, the Yellow Line and the Rapid Metro were to be made operational with restricted four-hour service from 7-11 AM and 4-8 PM. The passengers that availed the Yellow Line and Rapid Metro were nearly 15,500 on Monday and 17,600 passengers on Tuesday.
