Defence Ministry Appoints C B Ananthakrishnan as HAL’s Chairman & MD

According to Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Ministry of Defence has conveyed that C B Ananthakrishnan, Director (Finance), will hold the additional charge for the post of Chairman & Managing Director of the company for a term of three months.

On 29 November 2022, the announcement was made that his tenure would take effect from 1 November 2022. the company is to carry out the design, manufacture, development, repair and overhaul of aircraft. Also, the stake held in the company by (the GOI) Government of India is 75.15 per cent as on 31 March 2022.

On a consolidated basis, the net profit of HAL reported 44.2 per cent to Rs 1,221.22 crore in the second quarter of FY23 compared to Rs 846.74 crore posted in the second quarter of FY22. Revenue from operations went down by 7.3 per cent yearly to Rs 5,144.79 crore in Q2FY23.

Recently, the stocks shed 0.38 per cent to Rs 2751.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). In the last three sessions, the stock had gained 1.58 per cent.
