Coinbase Global, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, has acquired Agara, an AI-powered platform to promote its India push. Coinbase started hiring in India this year and expanding to build a high-quality tech hub.

Pankaj Gupta, VP of engineering and site lead, India, had said that the firm was trying to make purchases in India after the growth in crypto native talent in the country. “To support our growth plans in India, we are also exploring startup purchases and acquihires,” he had said.

The firm plans to use the platform’s deep learning and conversational AI technology to automate and improve its customer experience tools, according to a company blog post. “The acquisitions strengthen our pledge to deliver world-class support for customers, and bring Agara’s deep expertise in machine learning and natural language processing to Coinbase’s engineering team,” Manish Gupta, executive vice president, Coinbase Global, added in the blog post.
