Citroen Launches its All-Electric Concept Car Oli

Oli can be charged to 80 per cent in less than half an hour.

On Thursday, French auto giant Citroen unveils its new all-electric concept car Oli. During an Interview, Citroen’s CEO informed that electrification of transport represents a crucial part of a sustainable future. Other than electrification, another key element of Oli is sustainability. From the wheels to the rear bumper, the car is made of 50 per cent recycled plastics and is 100 per cent recyclable.

Oli can be charged to 80 per cent in less than half an hour. The Oli (pronounced all-e, for all-electric) weighs around 1,000 kg, the top speed is limited to 110 km/h, and expected to have a range of 248 miles. Citroen has also restricted Oli’s speed to a maximum of 68 mph to maximise efficiency.

Citroen has used eco-friendly means to manufacture materials and bodywork and the custom-made 20i aluminium-and-steel hybrid Goodyear Eagle Go wheels, which are a highly sustainable and cheaper option than alloy wheels.
According to the automaker, the vehicle’s parts could be reused and recycled throughout ownership. Also, Oli has a flat bonnet, pick-up bed panels, and roof built from recycled honeycomb cardboard rather than steel.
