Chemplast Sanmar Ltd, the flagship company of the Sanmar group, said on Saturday that profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended June 30, 2022, was Rs 41 crore.
The city company, which is engaged in the production of speciality pulp PVC (polyvinyl chloride), reported a PAT of Rs 29 crore in the same period last year.
Total revenue for the quarter rose to Rs 1,411 crore from Rs 960 crore a year ago, the company statement said.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the April-June quarter was Rs 194 crore compared to Rs 151 crore in the same period last year.
Ramkumar Shankar, the company’s MD, said: “Despite a challenging environment, we delivered another quarter with 47% year-on-year revenue growth and 28% year-on-year EBITDA growth.”
“Our profit was lower than Q4FY22 as the country’s COVID-related lockdown resulted in China exporting a lot of PVC to India,” he said.
MD said the medium to long-term outlook for our products is positive, with demand growth expected to outpace supply growth.
