OpenAI has introduced video and screen sharing in the ChatGPT mobile app, enhancing real-time interactions through its Advanced Voice feature.
The new features of the app’s Advanced Voice mode include a video icon for starting video chats and a “Share Screen” option accessible via the three-dot menu.
Initially teased in May with GPT-4’s ability to describe video game scenarios, the features were delayed due to production readiness concerns.
The update is being rolled out gradually to Team users and most Plus and Pro users, with full access expected within a week via the latest app version.
ChatGPT Pro, introduced last week at $200 per month, caters to professionals in fields like data science, programming, and legal analysis, offering unlimited access to OpenAI’s o1 model, o1-mini, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice features.
Users in the EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein will experience delays as OpenAI works to enable the features in those regions.
Enterprise and Education users can expect access to these capabilities by early 2025.
OpenAI recently made its AI video generator, Sora, available to ChatGPT Plus users earlier this week.
