The Competition Commission of India (CCI) announced that it has permitted the acquisition of 96.42 per cent equity shareholding in Jindal Power Ltd by Worldone Pvt Ltd. Worldone is an investment holding firm that has investments in several listed and unlisted companies. Jindal Power Ltd (JPL) primarily generates thermal power by using coal as a fuel source.

The Proposed Combination connects to the acquisition of 96.42 per cent equity shareholding in JPL by Worldone. The markets associated with this transaction are the coal-based thermal power generation market and the power transmission market, the CCI said in a statement.
