Nazara Technologies, a platform for Mobile Gaming and Sports Media, announced on August 30 that it had acquired WildWorks. It is a US-based Children’s Interactive Entertainment Company, bought for $10.4 million in an all-cash transaction.
Besides, it will also take over 100% stake in the company and the shareholders’ intellectual property. While filing stock, $10.4 million will be paid to WildWorks’s creditors in cash, and the stockholders won’t receive consideration for the acquisition. The two founders, Stacey, WildWorks’ Chief Executive, and Amis, Chief Operating Officer, will serve the company in their existing positions.
WildWorks clocked $13.8 million revenue for 2021, $18.6 million in 2020 and $20 million in 2019. The first half of 2022 incurred a revenue of $5.8 million, showing the company’s decline. The core profit was $3.1 million in 2021, $4.9 million in 2020 and $4.7 million in 2019. In the first half of 2022, it was $1.6 million per regulatory filings.
“With its strong brand presentation and artistic Utah-based development team, WildWorks enables us to solidify our leadership position in the gamified learning space for kids,” Nazara founder Nitish Mittersain said.
WildWorks’ Flagship Title ‘Animal Jam’ is a Digital playground for kids who are animals-lovers and the natural world, in association with National Geographic. Widely available on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. With this acquisition, WildWorks aims to localise Animal Jam apps for upcoming territories and develop new apps and brand interactive experiences.
Stacey said, “We immediately resounded with the Nazara team and admired the commitment they have already made to kids through Paper Boat Apps and Kiddopia.” Through this acquisition, WildWorks will join as a Friend of Nazara Network.
