A CK Birla Group company, Birlasoft, announced in an exchange filing on Monday that it has established a Generative AI Centre of Excellence in collaboration with Microsoft.
The Generative AI Centre of Excellence aims to accelerate value creation and foster innovation in adopting generative artificial intelligence and bring together the combined strengths of Birlasoft’s industry expertise and Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service.
The strategic collaboration will serve as a hub for the experts of the two organisations to facilitate research, training, and collaboration, enabling them to develop tailored solutions to address complex business challenges.
Birlasoft will utilise Azure OpenAI Service features for product design, process optimisation, quality and defect detection, predictive maintenance, and digital twins for the manufacturing sector.
Birlasoft will use generative AI solutions for drug discovery, design, and data augmentation in the Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical industry.
The startup wants to improve field service interactions for the Energy and Utilities sector using generative AI.
Automated claims management, simplifying financial reporting, and enhancing search capabilities are some focus areas for Generative AI in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance industry.
Birlasoft will train 500 consultants on generative AI technologies, principles, and best practices. Further, the consultants will work towards building more than 50 use cases, focusing on value creation across the various verticals and sub‐verticals served by Birlasoft.

In the early morning deals on Monday, shares of Birlasoft witnessed huge sell-off pressure. But the scrip bounced back after the company released the statement. The scrip settled at Rs 380.65, recovering from a loss of as much as 2.26%.
