Bhavish Aggarwal Urges Developers to Exit Google Maps and Use Ola Maps

Aggarwal mentioned that Ola had cut ties with Microsoft Azure and shifted its workload to the in-house AI platform Krutrim.

Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola, encouraged developers to switch to Ola Maps to compete with Google Maps. Aggarwal highlighted the advantages of Ola Maps, such as its unique features and seamless integration capabilities.

On Monday, Aggarwal announced that developers will have free access to Ola Maps on the Krutrim platform and more than Rs 100 crore in free credits for a year.

Ola had previously used Google Maps but transitioned to Ola Maps on July 6, saving almost Rs 100 crore annually. Aggarwal expressed that Ola Maps is better suited for India’s unique mapping challenges due to its AI-powered India-specific algorithms and real-time data from millions of vehicles.

According to Mr Aggarwal, here’s what Ola Maps offers: tailored location accuracy for India’s geography; faster and more precise search results, and more reliable travel time predictions.

Ola Maps uses diverse data sources to provide accurate mapping data, including real-time data from millions of vehicles, Ola S1s with 360-degree cameras, open-source government data repositories, OpenStreetMap, partnerships, and proprietary sources.
