Australia joined the US, the EU, Canada, Germany and Britain to force sanctions on Russia after Moscow ordered troops into different regions in Ukraine. Australia will instantly start putting sanctions on Russian individuals who it believes were responsible for its actions against Ukraine, Australian PM Scott Morrison said in a media briefing.

“Australia always stands up to bullies, and we will be standing up against Russia and, together with all of our partners, expect following tranches of sanctions; this is only the beginning of this process,” he added.
