Shares of Ashok Leyland climbed in morning trade on April 3 after the company reported strong monthly sales figures for March.
The company sold 23,926 units in March, up 19% from 20,123 units a year earlier. Total sales were also higher than the 22,000 units estimated by global research and brokerage firm Nomura.
Shares of Ashok Leyland were trading at Rs 141.70 on the National Stock Exchange at 10:40 am, up 1.7% from the previous close.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles also rose 20% to 16,773 from 13,990 a year earlier. In FY23, the company sold 192,205 units, up 50% YoY from 128,326 units in FY22.
