India’s second-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland on Thursday said that it had bagged orders from a logistics start-up company for 1,400 Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICVs). The logistics start-up, Procure Box will utilize ICVs for its fuel distribution business across 750 districts in the country.
The company in a regulatory filing said that the order encompasses the most successful product of Ashok Leyland, the Ecomet and will be executed in the next five-six months. However, the company did not disclose the worth of the order.
“With this order, our order book for ICVs has enhanced significantly…,” said Anuj Kathuria, COO of Ashok Leyland. Adding to that, he said the company had made significant efforts over the last few years, for increasing its market share in the ICVs and the action of that has given rich dividends.
Raman Kandhari, Founder and CEO of Procure Box, said, “This order is a testimony of our commitment to offer the best services and thus create value for our customers”.
The filing added, with the addition of 1,400 new ICVs, Procure Box and its associates will become top in the fuel bowsing and gas cylinder logistics company.
