BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has resigned from the company and its board after almost two months of drama after an audio clip leaked online where he abused a Kotak Mahindra Bank employee.
“I write this with a heavy heart as today I am being forced to bid farewell to a company of which I am a founder. I say with my head held high that today this company stands as a leader in the fintech world. Since the beginning of the year 2022, unfortunately, I have been embroiled in baseless and targeted attacks on my family and me by a few individuals who are ready not only to harm me and my reputation but also harm the reputation of the company, which they are trying to protect,” Grover said in an email. Grover said that he is now wasting his time fighting a long, lonely battle against his investors and management. Unfortunately, in this battle, the administration has lost what is actually at stake, i.e. BharatPe, he added.
Grover’s resignation comes after Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) rejected Grover’s emergency plea against the ongoing ‘governance review’ within the company, giving him no relief in the matter.
