Amit Shah to Interact with BSF Officers at Border Post on Trip to Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Assam. He will attend the first anniversary celebrations of the government headed by Himanta Biswa Sarma and travel to the India and Bangladesh border. Shah was received by Sarma and other senior state BJP leaders at Guwahati airport on Sunday night.


The Home Minister will visit the BSF’s Mankachar border post on Monday morning and interact with officers stationed there. He will also lay the groundwork for the Central Armed Paramilitary Force (CAPF) in Kelenchi, Tamurpur District, and participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of CENWOSTO-II (Central Workshop and Shop).


Shah will later open a census office in Amingaon, Kamrup district, and a super-speciality cardiothoracic and neuroscience centre at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in the evening. On Tuesday, he will show Assam police “the colours of the president” and interact with officers and force personnel at a ceremony in Guwahati. He will then speak at a public rally to mark the end of a year of Salma’s leadership. Shah will return to New Delhi on Tuesday night. Shah will return to New Delhi on Tuesday night.
