Ambuja Cements Ltd, has reported a 27% rise in second quarter profit.

Standalone profit increased to 4.99 billion rupees ($72.60 million) in the quarter ended June 30, from 3.92 billion rupees a year earlier. Cement sales volume rose to 6.37 million tonnes, from 6.05 million tonnes a year earlier. Further, total expenses decreased by 8% to 25.50 billion rupees.
