On Friday, Alphabet Inc Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sundar Pichai received an aggregate reimbursement of around $226 million in 2022, more than 800 times the average employee’s pay, the company stated in a securities filing.
The exchange filing presented Pichai’s compensation encompassed about $218 million in stock awards.
The pay discrepancy originates when Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has been cutting jobs internationally. Mountain View, which is a California-based Corporation, proclaimed plans to cut 12,000 jobs all around the world in January. As per data, it equals 6% of its global workforce.
In the previous month, hundreds of Google employees showed a walkout at the company’s London offices following an argument over layoff at the Zurich offices after more than 200 workers were laid off.
