India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met to discuss peace along the LAC and restoring ties, which have been frozen for over four years due to the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
Ajit Doval, leading the Indian delegation, arrived on Tuesday for the 23rd round of Special Representatives’ talks, marking the first meeting in five years since 2019 in Delhi.
The talks, which began at 10 AM China time, focus on rebuilding bilateral ties following the 21st October disengagement agreement in eastern Ladakh.
China expressed optimism about the talks, stating it is ready to work with India to implement commitments based on the mutual understanding reached between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during their meeting in Kazan, Russia, on 24th October.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian confirmed China’s sincerity in settling differences during the Special Representatives talks.
