Speciality and fine chemical manufacturer Aether Industries, USA-based H B Fuller and Saudi Aramco Technologies Company announced the first commercialisation of sustainable Converge polyols technology.
In a joint statement, the companies announced the launch of Converge, a new technology for the manufacturing of an organic compound, polyols, that will help bring down carbon emissions significantly.
Converge polyols are a differentiated series of polyols with promising applications in the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) industry.
Aether Industries said in the filing that the Converge platform represents a cutting-edge technology for producing more sustainable polyols that could contain up to 40% of carbon dioxide by weight, thus reducing overall CO2 emissions.
In March 2023, Aether Industries signed a pact with Saudi Aramco Technologies Company to commercialise the Converge polyols technology and the product line. The technology has been launched after a lot of research by the adhesives manufacturer H B Fuller to incorporate the technology into a new product application.
