With an investment of Rs 70,000 crores, Andhra Pradesh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani group to create data centre parks in the city Visakhapatnam.
The MoU will pave the way for the infrastructure giant to enter into the digital infrastructure sector. The park is supposed to create over one lakh direct and indirect jobs over the course of next 20 years and will be developed in three different campuses in and near Visakhapatnam.
The company claimed that the data centre parks will have capacities up to five GW and will be totally powered by renewable energy. The company also said that the Adani group and the state government will develop the hyper-scale data centre market in the state, positioning Andhra Pradesh as the east coast data centre hub for India and Southeast Asia.
The MoU was inked by Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, and K Vijayanand, Andhra Pradesh principal secretary (Information Technology). Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh were also present at the signing event.
