The natural gas distribution company, Adani Gas Limited will change its name to Adani Total Gas for reflecting the stake of French energy giant Total SE in the firm.
Adani Gas through a postal ballot has sought permissions of shareholders for hanging the name as well as to alter its memorandum and articles of association, according to its stock exchange filing. After Total SE has brought stake in Adani Gas, it is now “a joint venture company of Adani Group and TOTAL Group, France with 37.40 per cent stake by each promoter and remaining 25.20 per cent with public shareholders,” it said. 
The filing said that in order to reflect the holding structure both the promoters of the group has proposed to change the name of the company from ‘Adani Gas Ltd.’ to ‘Adani Total Gas Ltd.’. 
On November 3, the company’s board had approved the proposal of changing the name of the company in order to reflect the shareholding pattern of both the promoters. The board is headed by Adani and has the two nominees of Total, Alexis Thelemaque (Total India Head) and Jose-Ignacio Sanz Saiz. From Adani’s side, Pranav Adani is the other promoter director on the board.
