According to two officials, Adani Data Network has been granted a Unified Access Services license, enabling it to provide all telecommunications services in the country. Adani Group entered the telecom industry after buying spectrum in a recent auction.
“Adani Data Networks has been awarded UL (AS),” an official said. Another official said the permit was obtained on Monday.
Adani Data Networks Limited (ADNL), a unit of Adani Enterprises Limited, recently won the rights to use 400 MHz spectrum in the 26 GHz millimetre wave band in the 5G spectrum auction for 20 years for Rs 212 crore.
Adani Group said it plans to use airwaves for its data centres and super-applications it is building to support businesses from power distribution to airports and gas retailing to ports.
“The newly acquired 5G spectrum is expected to help create a unified digital platform that will accelerate the pace and scale of the digitization of the Adani Group’s core infrastructure, primary industries and B2C business portfolio,” the group said in a statement.
