NMDC said that in first two months of the current Financial Year, the production and sales of  iron ore has declined by 16% and 21% respectively.

The company in a BSE filing said that the Iron ore production fell by 16% to 4.41 million tonnes in April-May of 2015-16 fiscal from 4.94 million tonnes during the same period in 2014-15.

It also added that the sales of ore fell by 21 percent to 4.54 MT from 5.74 MT during the reported period.
