Health snack maker Slurrp Farm on Wednesday said it has raised $2 million funding in Series A round from multi-stage venture fund Fireside Ventures. Kanwaljit Singh, Founder & Managing Partner, Fireside Ventures will be joining Slurrp as board member.
The Gurugram-based company said that it plans to deploy the raised funds for product innovation, marketing and increasing inventory to meet increasing demand. Slurrp Farm is also looking forward to strengthen its team and fortify its direct-to-consumer channel. The brand plans to open new cities within India and expand its geographical footprint in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“The desire for healthier, less refined alternatives to wheat has fuelled the rediscovery of ancient grains. Health and wellness have gained an added focus during the pandemic. We are thrilled to invest in an innovative company like Slurrp Farm,” said Kanwaljit Singh.
Slurrp Farm was founded four years back by Shauravi Malik and Meghana Narayan, both friends and mothers. Slurrp Farm focuses on high-quality packaged food for children and has built a portfolio of 25 products including porridges and cereals, cookies, cake mixes, millet pancakes, millet dosa and puffed snacks. The products are available in more than 600 retail stores and leading online grocery stores across India, UAE, and Singapore.
In June 2018, Slurrp Farm had raised $1 million funding in its Pre-Series A round from investors including Info Edge’s Sanjeev Bhikchandani, Central Square Foundation’s Ashish Dhawan and Aditya Ghosh, Board Member of FabIndia and Oyo.
