Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC Limited) in a joint venture with Vensar Constructions Company Ltd. (VCCL) has bagged two orders worth Rs 236 crore from the Northeast Frontier Railway, said HCC in a statement on Monday.
The bagged order is a part of the new broad gauge rail line, Bairabi-Sairang which is being implemented by the state-owned Indian Railways (IR). The project is a part of IR plans for improving rail network across the North-Eastern India region.
This rail line projects aims to boost rail connectivity in the region, as it will be connecting Mizoram to IR’s railroad network up to Bairabi railway station. The order entails the construction of single line broad gauge tunnels on 51.38 km long Bairabi-Sairang broad gauge rail line in Manipur.
The project includes 32 underground tunnels, 55 major bridges, 87 minor bridges, 16 cut and cover tunnels, 5 roads under bridges (RUB), and 5 roads over bridges (ROB). The rail line will also be covering four railway stations, Hortoki, Kawnpui, Mualkhang, and Sarang.
On Friday, Shares of HCC Ltd. was trading at Rs 5.78 on BSE down from its previous close of Rs 5.85.
