The rapidly increasing COVID-19 pandemic had imposed restrictions on flight operations for the past several months. After a five-month shutdown in air travel between India and UAE, travel is now possible for those carrying a valid visa.
The ticket bookings for flights from UAE to 18 destinations in India from August 16 to 31 will open today.
Indian Ambassador to UAE Pavan Kapoor said that Indian nations who have any type of valid visa to UAE can now be permitted to travel to the country.
He tweeted, “Very pleased to see the @MoCA_GoI notification this evening as per which both Indian & UAE airlines can now carry any Indian national holding any type of valid UAE visa from India to UAE! @IndembAbuDhabi @cgidubai @MoFAICUAE.”
Following the flight restrictions between India and UAE of a five-month duration due to the coronavirus pandemic, tickets will now be available during the specified time period ( August 16 to August 31).
Previously, only residency visa holders were allowed to travel to the country on flights being operated as part of India’s repatriation mission called Vande Bharat, The Khaleej Times reported.
