Mahindra Group Launches University in Hyderabad

The Mahindra Group today announced the launch of Mahindra University (MU), an autonomous university in Hyderabad which will offer various graduate, PG and PhD courses. The Group’s Executive Chairman, Anand Mahindra will be its chancellor and the university will have interdisciplinary learning and integrating the study of science and technology in the fields of humanities, ethics, philosophy and design.
The university will have various schools including the School of Management in 2021-22, School of Law in the year 2021-22 and Indira Mahindra School of Education in 2021-22, School of Media and Liberal Arts by the year (2022-23) and School of Design in 2023-24. Mahindra University includes the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering that was set up earlier in 2014.
Mahindra University will be the part of the Mahindra Educational Institutions (MEI), a non-profit subsidiary of Tech Mahindra. Over the next five years, there will be 4,000 students and over 300-plus faculty members across a 130-acre place in the various schools at MU. C.P. Gurnani, the Managing Director and CEO of Tech Mahindra, said, “The MU is a testimony of our commitment towards bridging the skill gap and creating global leaders that are willing to change, adapt and transform into dynamic market needs and business environment.”
Students will have access to the Mahindra Group’s expertise as the University will bring corporate and industrial ecosystems together through its centres of excellence. It would have a more balanced education, integrating the latest technology with liberal arts and fully leverage emerging technologies like data science, data analytics and blockchain, to create next-generation leaders with a holistic view.
