Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the engineering and construction company, reported a strong quarterly financial result for the quarter ended on December 31, 2018, with a net profit of Rs 2,042 crores posting a 37 per cent growth as compared to previous year same quarter on the back of strong revenue growth and operational performance.
Larsen & Toubro in its regulatory filing said: “Riding on strong execution in project businesses coupled with noteworthy performance in service businesses, the company registered a strong revenue growth of 24 per cent YoY.” The company reported the revenue from operations at Rs 35,708.9 crores, showing a 24.2 per cent increase as against Q3 FY18.
The company announced that the revenue from the international businesses during the quarter under review stood at Rs 11,476 crores, which amounts to 32 per cent of the total revenue. The company’s EBITDA surged by 27.2 per cent (YoY) to Rs 3,997 crores whereas the margin expanded to 11.2 per cent against 10.9 per cent in the Q3 FY18.
L&T also informed that the company secured orders worth Rs 42,233 crores during the December ending quarter, 12 per cent less compared to order worth Rs 48,130 crores secured during the same quarter previous. On a cumulative basis, the order inflow for the nine months ended December 2018 stood at 1,20,296 crore, growing at 16 per cent YoY.
