Mentha oil prices declined in futures trade on Wednesday on a fall in demand by consuming industries at spot markets. Speculators cut positions in mentha oil futures due to a slump in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against higher supplies from key producing regions.
Around 11:55 am, MCX Mentha oil was at Rs 1,250.20 per kg, down by Rs 6.80, or 0.54 per cent. Mentha oil is trading in a range after a prolonged bearish momentum. Analysts and market observers advise ‘sell on the rise’ strategy for mentha as the fundamentals of the commodity still look weak.
