Avenue Supermarts, the operator of the D-Mart chain of stores, posted their quarterly financial report with a 19 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in its net profit, which stood at Rs. 226 crores. The company had earlier posted a net profit of Rs. 190.3 crores during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The total revenue of the company surged to Rs. 4,872 crores, posting a 39 per cent incline as compared to Rs. 3,507 crores, during the corresponding quarter of last year.
The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of the company was reported at Rs. 390 crores which resulted in a 23 per cent growth as compared to Rs. 317 crores EBITDA registered by the company a year ago period.
However, the operating margin of the company declined from 9 per cent in the Q2 FY18 to 8 per cent during the quarter under review. The company also said in the statement that they added three new stores during the July-September quarter.
Although the shares of Avenue Supermarts were reportedly down by 6 per cent during the early trade session on Monday despite better numbers posted by the company for the quarter ended September 2018.
