Comio which is a Chinese origin device maker (ODM) Topwise Communication’s brand of smartphones, plans to invest Rs 500 crore over the next two years for building its presence in the country.
The company that will be competing with the likes of Smsung, Xiaomi and Micromax in India plans to capture 5 percent market share in three years of operations.
Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Comio CEO has said that “We have been an ODM to many players, including those in India. There is a huge opportunity in India and we are keen on tapping that.”
He further said that Comio is going to play in the Rs 6,000-12,000 price bracket, which is a “sweet spot” accounting for 35-40 percent of the smartphone market in volume terms.
