NABARD has promised to provide a loan worth Rs 2,200 crore to the Telangana government for the ‘Mission Bhagiradha’ scheme.

A meeting was held by the NABARD officials with the state government officials over the scheme which aims to provide piped drinking water to all households in the state said a loan of Rs 2,200 crore will be sanctioned for 2016-17.

According to an official release an amount of Rs 1,976.8 crore was also promised earlier and the NABARD officials said they will release the second instalment of the amount soon.
