On Tuesday, Aurobindo Pharma said that it has got the final approval from the US health regulator for generic version of Levetiracetam injection which is used to treat epilepsy as well as anti-arthritis drug Celecoxib.
Aurobindo Pharma said in a BSE filing that the approval for single-dose vials of Levetiracetam injection from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product, Keppra Injection, 500 mg/5 mL (100 mg/mL), of UCB, Inc.
It further added that Levetiracetam injection is used for treatment of partial onset seizures, myoclonic seizures in patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, and primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures.
